Do I need a new iPad display or a new iPad touchscreen?

The display of an iPad consists of three different parts: The display glass, the touchscreen, and the LCD. The display glass is the top protective layer of the display that is directly touched by your fingers. The touchscreen is behind it and is responsible for detecting touches. Last but not least, the LCD is responsible for displaying images on the screen

If the display of your iPad is broken, it is possible that not all layers are damaged. If there are cracks or scratches on the screen, but no other functions are damaged, only the display glass is damaged. If the touch screen is damaged, the touch functions will no longer work as usual and if the LCD is damaged, errors in the image will be noticeable. This can be seen, for example, in the form of dots or dashes on the screen.

Which iPad model do I have?

If you're not sure what model your iPad is, you can find out by looking at the model number. It's printed on the back of your iPad under the iPad logo (see image). You can tell the model number because it always consists of a capital A followed by four numbers. You can see which model number belongs to which model from the list below:
