Before you start

When you have all the necessary materials and tools at hand, you can start with the preparation. It is important that you inform yourself about the replacement of the display on your specific smartphone model. YouTube videos are an ideal help here. It is not sufficient to know only the basic information from this article to replace a display, as every smartphone has certain peculiarities and therefore requires a slightly different procedure. You should also make a backup of your data in case something goes wrong.

The exchange

The replacement process itself can vary between different models of smartphones. However, some steps are generally the same for all. Before you start, make sure the smartphone is switched off. First, unscrew the smartphone. The screws should remain organised as much as possible so that they can be reinstalled in the right place at the end. A magnetic mat is particularly useful here. Now you can carefully remove the display with the spatula or plectrum and the suction cup. Be careful not to damage the cables and contacts. The best way to do this is to open it at a 90 degree angle. To remove the display, disconnect all connectors. Once you have removed the old display, you can connect the new one to the connectors. Now the display can be attached. Please make sure that the new display is working properly (just switch it on briefly and test all functions) before finally installing and gluing it.
